The Purpose of the Site
This site is for both foreigners and Korean natives alike to come to voice their opinions on various topics affecting/influencing South Korea. Along with posting blogs on various issues, I will also leave an open thread every day for anyone to open a discussion or topic on their mind. The most common topics I post are on the Korean culture, funny events that happen to me and other foreigners, Korean politics, the Korean entertainment industry, business (especially labor relations), and other news articles which are of interest.
Author's Bias
To say that I always approach each topic with a completely objective, neutral perceptive would be ridiculous. I'm human, just like you, and this isn't a newspaper so I'll withhold all the pretend impartial propaganda. I love living in Korea and feel fortunate to be a part of such a passionate group of people. However I feel it's the population of a country's duty to continuously discuss issues and strive for progress. If you want to know more about my biases, just read the blogs I post and you can speculate all you want about my ideology, political persuasion, religious views, etc.
About the Author (Adam S. Oppegaard)
-Master's in Applied Psychology (Organizational Training and Development)
-Bachelor's of Science in Psychology
I've been working for BCM Education Group for the past four years (as of 2010).
Other professional work in Korea includes co-hosting the cable access show "Momglish," being an English News anchor (Hyundai Communication Network), editing a translation of English subtitles for SM Entertainment, was an advisor for Byung-Chul Min regarding his book "Ugly Koreans, Ugly Americans," tutor graduate students n the government diplomat test, and teach at an "afterschool program."
I've been living in South Korea since '06. and came here for a simple reason. I met my wife in America, her visa was going to expire and she had to come back to Korea to finish her undergraduate degree. So I graduated from my master's program and followed her here, and we've been married since '09. Muay Thai training is currently my favorite leisure activity. Other than I get out as much as I can, so contact me and let's hit the city! :)
